『Allen, 我們今天要吃中國料理喔!』, 轟媽隔著房門對我喊著,

『哈哈! 真的嗎?』, 我帶著高興又夾雜點驚訝的語氣回問道,

我的驚訝並不是沒有原因的, 畢竟上一次吃到中式的餐點彷彿已經是五十幾天前的事了! 其實這樣說一點也不誇張, 對我這位留學生來說, 一個月能吃到一餐中國菜就要偷笑了!

從小生在這座被稱為』美食天堂』的寶島的我們, 可說是世界上最幸福的人們了, 變化多端的中式料理可說是數也數不清, 我甚至可以為了這件事以生為中華民族為傲,

也許對於長期生活在台灣的你們, 對於』吃膩』這兩個字很難理解, 我先打個比方吧! 假如每天都叫你在學校吃中餐, 而菜單上都是一成不變的漢堡, 披薩, 和麵包, 只是名稱不同罷了!

你可否持續忍受七個月呢? 我想很難吧! 但我做到了! 由於美國的速食文化, 造就了一成不變的菜色和花樣, 不但不健康更不可口, 更重要的! 可是害慘了我們這些可憐的留學生呀!

回到正題吧! 今天轟媽決定外帶中國料理, 看了看菜單, 我點了一道牛肉炒飯, 為何不點別的呢? 金庸曾經說過, 一位厲害的廚師, 所做出最可口的菜也是最平凡不過的菜,

所下之功夫最深, 反道, 劣質的廚師, 所做出能吃的菜也是最簡單的菜色, 扯遠了! 不過今天的炒飯還真的很好吃! 唉! 不知道下次再吃到中國菜又是何年何日呀!

二零零七的八月初我興奮又緊張地踏入Minneapolis　Airport，並由轟媽口中得知明尼蘇達的別稱是「千湖之州」，州花是lady slipper；十一個月後的我依依不捨地在轟家門口和親朋好友們一一擁抱道別，大家哭成一團，我也淚眼婆娑地答應一定要繼續聯絡，並請他們一定要來台灣找我，我也一定會show them around。 Continue Reading »

Dear AYUSA:hello!! how’s everyone doing?

I am the exchange student in Kentucky!!It’s been almost 7 months here. It was really tough in the first three months.The way I came here was also tough. I missed  the plane from LA to Charlotte  and when I arrived in Charlotte i found out my plane was canceled. I was so nervous but I tried to calm down and ask  people how I can change the ticket. Finally, I got me another ticket!!I remembered the first day in school. I was sooooo nervous. Different places,  people and language. I couldn’t understand everyone is talking about. When I am in Taiwan, I had a good grade in my English. so that made me really feel frustrated.

The first two weeks I got lost in school everyday. But the students are so nice, they really help me a lot!!  I have another exchange student from Kazakhstan in my school. Her name is Bibi. We are really good!! Sometimes, I spend one night with and she spends one night with me!! By the way, my host mother and Bibi’s host mother work together in our school. They teach disabled kids!! So, my host also helps me a lot in school!! i have my Community Service every Wednesdays in my school’s library.I also had presentation in my school and in the middle school. That really means a lot to me. It helped me to deal with the nerves when I talking in front of a bunch of people and it also made me feel so good and very proud of TAIWAN!!

The place I live is so country. I can only see two buildings from my house. One is my host sister’s house and another is my host father’s barn.Beside these are the woods and roads!! Fortunately, my host family is great.and they have 5 grandchildren. I really enjoy playing with them and it can also help me with my English!! And I have a good CR, she contacts with every month and she plan trips to different places. In September, we went to West Virginia and Virginia Beach.That was a pretty good trip. And we are going to Washington DC in April!!! That will be a lot of fun!!!Now, I am kind of enjoying my life here. I am really glad I come here. It’s not only training my English speaking but also the different culture!!I think I have grown a lot since I have been here. It’s a very good experience for me!There’s still a lot I want to share. But I think i can write a book if I tell the differences between here and Taiwan!! Anyway,Thank you Nora, Charles and all staffs in AYUSA!!Take care!!

長長的10個月，如今只剩下3個月了。

很感謝爸媽給我最大的鼓勵與支持，AYUSA的協助，還有老師同學朋友的祝福。我的美國交換學年過得應該不能再更精彩了。從小就擁抱的夢想，隨著3年的準備而實現。
