The life is like highway. You never know what will happen. Maybe you will meet a traffic jam, and sometimes you can drive one hundred and ten kilometers per hour.
I never thought that I could be an exchange student before, but now I am an exchange student. I found out that anything can be possible. In Taiwan, that won’t happen, but now I can try different kinds of things and let it happen. Have you played indoor hockey? I never thought that I could play hockey. Finally, I not only played hockey but I also got the MVP in the whole hockey season. At one time, I was thinking if I never tried something, it would never happen.
I didn’t have a good beginning, I changed three host families and I came from California to West Virginia. Can you imagine how far it is? This made me go through three time zones. When I went to school, I found that most students use marijuana. I was afraid in that time, but this is a different culture, isn’t it?
To be an exchange student let me learn a lot. In my opinion, when you have some problems, what can you do is that write the mail to your RM , AYUSA in San Francisco, and Taiwan AYUSA. If your RD is pretty nice and you can trust him, then you can write the mail to your RD. The most important thing is that whatever you meet any problem, you need to try first, if you can’t handle it and you can find someone and ask them how to solve your problem. If you don’t want to try, you will have a bad year. After solve your problem, you can learn a lots of things from your problem. Those experiences will accompany you forever.
