Business Law
This one semester class introduces the student to a comprehensive study of
business law, stressing ethics, contracts, and criminal, civil, and case law.
The class may include several guest speakers, a field trip to criminal count,
and a mock trial.

Concert Band
This course develops the students’ technical proficiency, enjoyment, and
musical understanding on wind instruments. Class work may include rehearsals,
home practice, listening, performances at concerts and festivals, public service
programs, sectionals and chamber work. This is a performance-based class.

Reading/Writing Workshop
If you want to read faster and write better, take Reading/Writing Workshop.
By taking this class, students increase reading speed, an invaluable strategy
for college, and learn strategic writing skills that will last a lifetime.

Orchestra
This course develops the students’ technical proficiency, enjoyment, and
musical understanding on string instruments. Class work may include rehearsals,
home practice, listening, performances at concerts and festivals, public service
programs, sectionals, and chamber work. This is a performance-based class.

International Problems
This course presents an in-depth analysis of four or five major issues
confronting our world. Topics may include: national, war and peace in the
nuclear age ,the role of United Nations in solving world problems ,
the breakup of Yugoslavia ,the Middle East, the gap between rich and poor
nations, population, terrorism and other current issues.

Pre-Calculus Honor
This course provides an in-depth study of trigonometry along with the study
of analytic geometry, matrices, probability, and algebraic, exponential and
logarithmic functions and their graphs in preparation for a course in calculus.
It will conclude with a study of limits in preparation for Calculus. Precocious
is strongly recommended for students anticipating careers in science, medicine,
engineering, business or mathematics.

Economics
This course is an introduction to the basic concepts and institutions of American
economics system. Macro and micro economics topics such as markets , prices ,
labor organizations, money, inflation and international trade are considered.
A section on political economics and economic systems is included. Upon successful
completion of the course, students may elect to receive either a Social credit(CW)
or required Consumer Economics credit, but not both.

British / World Literature
This course is designed to give significant literary exposure to the college-bound
student. Students read and discuss traditional and contemporary British /World
literature. Students appreciate and understand the values and dynamics of a different
culture.
