Things are going smoothly since my arrival. The teachers and classmates here are really nice and friendly, and they are willing to give me any help I seek. They took me trick-or-treating (though I’m sixteen already) but you’re never too old for candy.

My host family likes my egg-fried-rice a lot, and I am in love with corn and bacon and mashed potatoes. It’s pretty amazed that I have almost the same eating habits with my host father. We both like spicy food, wasabi, anchovies, and we both dislike mushrooms.

I joined the choir at school and we had my first concert in the US. We will have another one in December. I also sang with my host father, Tom, at church last weekend, and my host sister Julia will play the piano for a Christmas play at church next weekend.
We had a pretty big Thanksgiving feast yesterday and it was the first time Julia (from Germany ) and I ever had turkey. It was wonderful and I took a lot of pictures. After dinner we put up the Christ tree. It’s a little early, but everybody had fun putting ornaments on it. Our cat Sissy was obsessed with the tree and kept trying to sit in it.
We went Christmas shopping and discussed what we should get for each family member (behind their backs of course ), and we will be heading to Cleveland this afternoon for ANOTHER Thanksgiving feast! Oh boy!
I’m really thankful that I have the chance to come here and to all those that supported my decision, I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas.

This is the decision that I will never regret. I’m glad that I have this chance to experience a totally different life here. I joined the marching band and I’m a tuba(低音號) player, actually this is the first time I’ve ever seen this instrument. Our marching band won superior+4 extra awards in EAC Band Day ,and we also won a superior in State Competition(which is the highest score our school has received in six years).

Also, joining the marching band, we’ve got a special invitation to listen to the BLUE MAN GROUP concert, they’re really AWESOME!!

The Arizona AYUSA invited us to go on a trip to –Las Vegas!! This is the place I’ve always wanted to go to. Though we can’t go to the casinos, we still had lots of fun. We went to Stratosphere Casino and played the world’s highest thrill rides(It’s 1,149 feet tall). Though I’m really afraid of heights, I still tried it, and it’s also because it cost me 34dollars to get the Tower Admission + All Day Unlimited Rides ticket. We also visited a lot of shops. It was the best trip ever!

I experienced the first original Halloween, walking on the street just for getting candies and Thanksgiving turkey. I’m expecting Christmas and my host family plan to take me to go skiing on my birthday. I really enjoyed it a lot here.
By the way, I jumped into the outdoor swimming pool in the back yard in November. That was quiet stupid but it was cool!

I’m still having culinary art, English 3, Geometry, Introduction of Agriculture, Spanish 1, History and Reaction Sports.
I wanna drop the AG class cause I don’t think that I’ve learned anything from it so far, but i might change it next semester:)
Thanksgiving is coming and I feel so excited because I’m going elk haunting with my family on Wednesday:) My mom went there first and she sent me a message saying that it is only 17degrees F there~ It is freezing out there~ kk ~But I’m looking forward to see tons of deers walking around me and the beautiful scenery

Brianna and I were standing on one of the decorations in the pumpkin patch:) kk, we climbed on it with those pumpkins on hand

.My host mom took me and Brianna(my sister) to a pumpkin patch. It was fun:) See me holding the little tiny pumpkin?:) I coudln’t wait to carve it into a cute funny face then <3

I went to Salem for the capital building:) There was a senator showing us around:) I even sit on his seat feeling like a professional person:)

I did the presentation of Taiwan in the middle school for three periods:) It was pretty tiring to speak for that long time~ but Ienjoyed it a lot although I was kind of nervous at first and was a little bit mumbling:P The kids there are really nice and they asked me a lot of questions:) And the most important point is that they all like hi-chew

I was dressed up like a vampire on Halloween and went to Mcminville for trick or treating with my friends:)

上一秒熱得像夏天,下一秒冷得像冬天
是的!我在天氣變化超大美國德州休斯頓附近─Katy
