交換學生日記-李亭葶

Published by admin under 2011-12 AYUSA, OH 李亭葶

Things are going smoothly since my arrival. The teachers and classmates here are really nice and friendly, and they are willing to give me any help I seek. They took me trick-or-treating (though I’m sixteen already) but you’re never too old for candy. :)

My host family likes my egg-fried-rice a lot, and I am in love with corn and bacon and mashed potatoes. It’s pretty amazed that I have almost the same eating habits with my host father. We both like spicy food, wasabi, anchovies, and we both dislike mushrooms.

I joined the choir at school and we had my first concert in the US. We will have another one in December. I also sang with my host father, Tom, at church last weekend, and my host sister Julia will play the piano for a Christmas play at church next weekend.

We had a pretty big Thanksgiving feast yesterday and it was the first time Julia (from Germany ) and I ever had turkey. It was wonderful and I took a lot of pictures. After dinner we put up the Christ tree. It’s a little early, but everybody had fun putting ornaments on it. Our cat Sissy was obsessed with the tree and kept trying to sit in it. :D
We went Christmas shopping and discussed what we should get for each family member (behind their backs of course ), and we will be heading to Cleveland this afternoon for ANOTHER Thanksgiving feast! Oh boy!

I’m really thankful that I have the chance to come here and to all those that supported my decision, I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas.
